P-CCS Student Wins Math Award

Algebra Nation, a state-funded math program that is free for students, schools, and teachers in Michigan, awarded Liberty MS 8th grade student Kamal Numburi an iPad for exemplary work in helping his peers across the state succeed in Geometry.
Algebra Nation presented the award and prize on January 14, in Liberty.
Kimberly Jensen , Kamal’s math teacher, had this to say about him: “Kamal is a very determined child. He loves to collaborate with people and help people. He has lots of friends and is always very happy and smiling. Kamal isn’t afraid to ask questions in class for better understanding of material. He has always been respectful and polite and I have enjoyed having him in class. As he moves to high school next year, I know he will be very successful!”
Kamal enjoys helping other students and is sure that it’s helping him too. He said, “Helping others solve their problems is another way of learning because you are improving your skills by teaching and you are learning at the same time.”
