As students continue to adjust to distance or hybrid learning this school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Math Nation is here to help! Math Nation (formerly known as Algebra Nation before our expansion to more courses) is offering free digital access for students and families to all 6-8th Grade Math, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and SAT Prep resources from now through June 30, 2021!

Given the loss of face-to-face instruction due to school closures, students need quality remediation now more than ever, as well as opportunities to recover from the COVID slide that many students have taken. A 2020 NWEA study shows that preliminary COVID slide estimates suggest in fall 2020, students will be “returning with less than 50% of the learning gains (in mathematics) and in some grades, nearly a full year behind what we would observe in normal conditions. Most students will have more learning to do at home outside of the allotted school hours in order to get back on track and stay on grade level this school year. There’s a dire need for the individualized instruction with remediation naturally built-in that Math Nation provides.

Math Nation’s digital platform is the perfect tool for continued learning during these uncertain times, with over 5,000 engaging videos, digital practice problems, adaptive remediation tools, mobile apps, and more for middle and high school math students.

Thousands of students, families, and teachers across the country have been taking advantage of this free access since March 2020. Here’s what they are saying!

  • “I discovered the 6th-grade on-ramp and I am so excited to use this as my bridge from the 5th grade COVID gap to 6th grade. It is a lifesaver! LOVE IT!”

    — Leah Herman, Teacher Gobles Public Schools

  • “During the eLearning last spring, Math Nation resources were a lifesaver. Students responded very well and were able to continue to LEARN NEW material without having me in class with them. The videos they provide are amazing. Math Nation teaches students the new material just like I would. They provide wonderful assessments that gave me a great look into the students’ true understanding. I had a few students tell me they liked it because using Math Nation did not feel overwhelming but still taught them a lot.”

    — Samantha Cann, Dixie High School

  • “Math Nation resources have been PRICELESS during this quarantine period, as well as during the regular in-class school year. Throughout school closing, I used the tutorial videos during small group instruction, as homework, or with the workbook for practicing skills. Students are able to select the tutor they best connect with and get a different teaching perspective on the lesson.”

    — Vickie Davis, Pelion Middle School

  • “When our traditional instruction was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, we were desperate to find a resource we could use to support distance learning. Math Nation supported us in getting our teachers prepared to deliver instruction remotely. When we decided that we needed to continue to use Math Nation as a high school curriculum resource that is going to support how we need to instruct with COVID-19 impacting school operations for the upcoming year, we reached out to Math Nation for professional development support. Math Nation worked with our teachers to develop their skills in knowing how to use the resource as a virtual learning tool. So not only are we receiving materials but the professional development to support our students. That, in a cliché, is priceless.”

    — Scott Roark, Romulus Community Schools

  • “This is one of the best math websites we have ever had. Our daughter has had trouble with math with every other method (even with an in-person tutor), but Math Nation is just so good and she has no problems. Thank you so much! It really makes a difference.”

    — Tammy Orsini, Parent, Providence Rhode Island
